Our Speakers

Jan Finis, Salesforce

Jan completed his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD at TUM before co-founding Celerata, the company behind HyPer. Acquired by Tableau in 2016 and later by Salesforce in 2020, Hyper now powers all of Tableau's products. As Head Architect at Salesforce, Jan will take us through Hyper’s incredible transition from an academic project to an enterprise-grade database engine. Expect fascinating insights into the challenges, optimizations, and technical marvels that keep Hyper at the forefront of analytical database performance. We are excited to finally host the Hyper team for this special occasion!

Philipp Fent, CedarDB

Philipp is another familiar face at the Munich Database Meetup, and we’re thrilled to have him back for this special night! Last year, he co-founded CedarDB with four PhD colleagues, a spinoff built around the Umbra database developed at the TUM database chair. While the topic of his talk is still being finalized, rest assured—it will be packed with fresh insights and bleeding-edge database tech. Stay tuned for updates!
